It is almost cliché to continue saying that we live in a “digital era”, however we can’t deny the fact that communication and the digital world is evolving constantly.
Most businesses today rely strictly on SaaS (software as a service) and PaaS (platform as a service) tools to help them in daily tasks for their operations to run smoothly. When I first started running my business – brandfluence, even though I had come from a solid professional background in Marketing and Project Management, I still had doubts in choosing the right platforms and tools to handle tasks for the sole reason that we are exposed to a high volume of options and tools every day. However, after careful analysis and weighing pro’s and con’s, I managed to shortlist the most appropriate.
Depending on the nature of your business, spend a couple of minutes going over these digital technologies which might just cut you off a couple of hours of research.
1. Marketing tools
We are exposed to a wide range of marketing techniques and tools that allow us to successfully reach our customers, via social media channels, email campaigns, SEO/ PPC – which all represent a significant source of traffic. Apart from the numerous operational benefits that these tools provide, they are also affordable by offering different packages depending on requests. It is valuable to also mention that these tools allow you to easily prepare and extract analytics and reports for your analysis and forecasting – just in a couple of clicks. For instance, tools such as HootSuite, will assist in scheduling social media posts; Mailchimp helps in creating and managing email campaigns; while SEMrush assists in planning, researching, and carrying out SEO activities.
2. Cloud services
Having an online environment where your business can build and run cutting-edge solutions without the fear of losing any data is a MUST today. Different enterprises, as well as entrepreneurs, have one goal in common — business transformation; where technology may enable this transformation, but cloud platform services accelerate it. There are many cloud services today that deliver servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence such as Google, Icedrive, pCloud, Dropbox etc.
3. Project management tools
The need to measure, objectify, and delegate tasks properly is of high importance and that’s where the use of modern project management tools comes in. By choosing the right one depending on your business deliverables, these tools can boost team efficiency and increase productivity at work through task management, to-do lists, time-tracker, collaboration, reporting etc. Some tools that I would mention are: Asana, Trello, Monday, Airtable.
4. CRM software
Customer relationship management (CRM) software gives companies greater power in how they handle relationships with their customers. Moreover, CRMs collect a wide range of information that can help your sales team convert leads into sales or improve customer retention metrics. By properly tracking customer touch points, your sales team can understand which prospects are most likely to convert, so they can prioritize customer outreach appropriately. Software such as salesforce and HubSpot can provide a helping hand.
To wrap up, the right digital technology tools will make all the difference for your daily operations, whether you’re a running business or startup. With tools that enable collaboration, help you gain better insights or simply managing basic tasks, you will have the perfect resources necessary for significant growth.
